From August 8 to 10, the traditional Melon Festival — Qovun Sayli — will take place in the Khorezm region, at the historic sites of Ichan-Kala and Arda Khiva.
According to uzbektourism.uz, the festival is organized by the Tourism Committee of Uzbekistan and the Khorezm regional administration. As part of the event, cities and districts from across the region will showcase exhibition-fairs featuring sweet melons grown in their local areas. The pavilions will be festively decorated to reflect the unique characteristics of each territory.
Visitors can also enjoy theatrical performances, puppet shows, traditional costume displays, exhibitions of national cuisine, Khorezm bread, handicrafts, and live music by folklore ensembles. The program will also include art and craft exhibitions and interactive master classes.
Participants actively involved in the festival will be recognized in various categories and awarded valuable prizes from the Khorezm regional administration and sponsors.
The main events of the festival will feature gala concerts with performances by local and international stars, held on August 8–9 in Ichan-Kala, and on August 10 in Arda Khiva.
